Bus Routes & Other Transportation

Chapel Hill Transit

Chapel Hill Transit operates fixed-route and demand-response service throughout the Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro with connecting routes to the regional transit provider, GoTriangle.

Carolina Ethics Line

Carolina Ethics Line is the anonymous reporting and inquiry hotline used by The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Carolina Ethics Line provides a simple, anonymous way to report possible unethical or improper conduct, and/or violations of University policies and procedures, regulations, or state and federal laws.

ITS Security Information

The University’s Information Security Office oversees the security of the University’s electronic information. The Information Security Office is responsible for coordinating and ensuring Information Security across the University in a manner that is consistent with industry best practices and the University’s compliance obligations. To meet these objectives, the Information Security Office develops information security policies and oversees the implementation of strategic information security initiatives for the University.

2-Step Verification

Activating 2-Step Verification boosts protection of your UNC accounts from hackers. We are all used to having one layer of security —  our password — to protect our accounts. With 2-Step, if bad guys get through the password layer, they will still need your phone or other second verification method to get into your accounts.

One Card

Learn more about how to get your UNC One Card. Your One Card is a multipurpose identification card that also serves as a card for building access, copy and print services, library access, and access to campus events.

Payroll Schedules

Payroll Services recently announced an update to the Payroll Schedule website. Employees can now access biweekly or monthly pay calendar information by choosing the applicable employee type and year. There is also a new Outlook Calendar available that will display the University’s HR/payroll processes and deadlines.

Parking at UNC

University employees should contact the Parking Coordinator for their department to request a parking permit. UNC Hospitals’ employees should contact the Hospital Parking Office at 919-966-1031. Temporary and contract employees should contact the unit/department that employs them for information on parking availability. Employees can manage their Move Online Account at Online Services with a PID or Onyen login.

Safety & Security

UNC Police at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill provide all law enforcement services to the University campus. The department currently employs 53 full-time armed Police Officers. The department provides patrol services to the campus and University-owned properties 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. University Police are governed by N.C. General Statute 116-40.5 that gives University Police officers the same authority as municipal police officers.

The Well

The Well is Carolina’s news and information source for faculty and staff. Employees can read the day’s top stories, learn more about projects in schools, units and departments, and see how Carolina’s employees work to uphold the University mission of research, teaching and service. The site also features In the Know, important pieces of information employees need to know each day, such as road closures, benefits enrollment deadlines or weather-related issues. Employees will also receive an email news digest called From The Well.

TIM (Time Information Management) System

The Time Information Management System (TIM) is UNC-Chapel Hill’s official time-capturing system utilized to track SHRA employee hours for accurate calculation of payment as well as to track leave for accurate reporting records for SHRA and Permanent EHRA employees.
